I've been working on turning a Midge doll into Nancy Drew.
I started out by giving her a haircut and knitting her a silk and cotton dress. I had to combining three vintage patterns to get the look that I wanted and I'm pleased with the result. I also made her some suede gloves (the tiniest I've ever made) and some glass pearl earrings and a matching necklace. Now she needs a flashlight, magnifying glass, and perhaps a pair of binoculars.
This Last winter I got a reprint of a 1920s clothing catalog from Dover Publishing. Their hat selection inspired me, and the bears got little hats. The one on the left is corduroy and the burgundy one is flannel. The scarves are another vintage wool.
These two were put together from an old Angora sweater that had a little moth damage. Their muzzles are suede and they have floss noses. I still haven's decided on names yet, and they don't even have eyes in these pictures, but they certainly seem full of personality.
The Angora brothers try on their new shirts and silk ties.
