Planting Containers

Gus is excited to get gardening with these elegant little pots and vases; brilliantly designed and 3D printed by @stovallthedoll !! My warmest thanks to Stovall’s GIANT, for custom engineering the most amazing suite of garden furnishings I could have hoped for, including the bench Gus is sitting on, and two matching Tuscan-inspired urns (not pictured). Thanks a million, buddy, for making my miniature dreams come true!! 

 

Feels like Summer

The Summer weather just arrived, and Gus broke out a cabana set and a bucket hat to meet it! (Perfect for this week’s #monday4dolls photo theme: #hats) The sewing pattern for Gus’ oversized resort shirt, is coming to the Tiny Apparel pattern shop very soon!

 

Bespoke for Barbie

 

 

Gus is in his tailor’s studio, helping test the drape of some fabric (for a project that is a bit outside my usual repertoire!) while his neighbor, George, waits to get her measurements taken. Miniature artist, @carliekarl, requested a bespoke Barbie-sized shirt dress, and Gus and I are doing our upmost to get it right. This project reminded me forcibly of two things, 1: the iconic photo of mid-century design genius, Jacques Fath, draping fabric in his studio, with his wife, Geneviève, and 2: @adrian.dollslife ‘s May photo theme for the #adriandollslifekenchallenge “Anything for you, Barbie!” Scroll down to see George modeling the finished dress, and the faux suede jacket that was requested along with it.

 

 

 

These pieces were inspired by the this jacket and shirt-dress from this past Autumn/Winter Polo Ralph Lauren ladies' collection. 

 

 

Updating that Pic

Here is Gus, with his portfolio, his cold water bottle, and his curls freshly groomed, ready to go to work in the studio. First on the list: posing for a long overdue update to the profile picture for the Tiny Apparel Patterns Instagram account! 

 

Merman Gus is Back!

For the Instagram #mermay theme, merman Gus is back, hanging onto on the boom of his yacht, as it charges over the choppy waves! I’ve made a sewing pattern for his tail, which can be purchased here. 

 

Bespoke Loafer Set

They’ve been a long time in the making, but I finally completed four more pairs of paper loafers! Two @coach inspired turnlock pairs, one pair with @saintcrispins inspired intertwining straps, and one glossy pair of #belgianloafers with bows. I hope they will bring lots of joy to the Ken dolls in their new homes!

 

 

A Sports Theme

There’s something special about a sport that requires you to be a teammate, a coach, a dance partner, a hype man, a valet, a manager, a workout buddy, and a friend, all rolled into one! Today’s weekly #monday4dolls photography theme was #sports so, Gus and his pony joined in, with a little in-hand exercise.

2021 Gala Fashion Review!

Gus is enjoying the latest issue of #dollslifemagazine that just came out over on @adrian.dollslife ‘s account, this morning! I got to contribute to the section covering the Glam Doll Gala with a red carpet fashion review, including a dozen looks from the gala attendees! You can read the whole article here.

The Kentucky Derby!

Today is the Kentucky Derby! The favorite looks like a finely chiseled marble statue, but Gus has his eye on a certain feisty chestnut, and a very leggy long shot! Best of luck to the ponies and the jockeys! Have a safe run!
