October Editorial

Gus is modeling for the October menswear editorial in Dollslife Magazine, and doing his upmost to portray a glamorous man of mystery!

Bespoke Spectators

I just completed another bespoke project! This was my first time creating faux leather and card spectator shoes, and designing a Barbie-sized pair of flats! Many thanks to miniature artist and photographer, @carliekarl, for requesting these tiny shoes, and encouraging me to try out some new designs!!

Decorating for Fall

Sinatra, the beagle, is helping Gus switch out the broadcloth cushions, on his bench, for some cozy flannel ones.

Gus settles into his soft flannel cushions, with a book, and a cup of hot tea. A perfect way to spend a windy, rainy morning. These beautiful fabrics are all from @yankeepridequilts

Planning for Halloween!

Lucian is all excited for Halloween, and he thinks he’s got the perfect idea for a double Halloween costume! Now, he just has to convince his big cousin, Gus, to participate! 

Gus has gotten on board with Lucian’s costume idea, and he’s visiting the design studio, to check out the hats they will be wearing. Any guesses as to who they will be dressed as?

New Pattern Debut: Joggers

Gus is very excited to be modeling a new sewing pattern for the Tiny Apparel Etsy shop! It’s a comfy, cozy pair of joggers, that can be made up in two different styles - perfect for workouts, and for lounging around on the sofa.  This pattern has been in the works for a few weeks, so I am super thrilled to have it ready this morning! One style of joggers has a pair of roomy patch pockets, in addition to the two functional pockets at the hip. The other style features bold ribbon stripes down the side of each leg!

Gus Goes Leaf Peeping

Gus is in his tack room, getting ready for a little cozy, horse-drawn leaf peeping, with Barry, the Hackney pony. He’s wearing a warm sweater vest, made out of an awesome fairisle style sock that I found, last year, in a local sock store.

Here they are, out for some scenic morning exercise. Gus is admiring the leaves in the cool autumn air, while listening to the clip-clop of Barry’s little hooves.

Back in the paddock, Gus thanks Barry for a very pleasant drive through the woods, and gives him a tasty post-workout snack. That tiny apple that Gus is holding is actually a real miniature fruit, fresh picked from a crabapple tree in my neighborhood!

Gus Attends a Wedding in Classic Style

Gus got to attend another virtual Instagram doll wedding. This time, the charming couple are a Barbie and Ken doll, named William and Megan. The adorable little wedding was created by the miniature artist, and collector @riverlovesbarbie. Gus Wishes the new couple a brilliant future, filled with love and joy!

A Swimwear Collection

This week, I completed my 2nd largest project this year! An eight-piece set of the hand-stitched, mid-century-inspired swim trunks, made in collaboration with printed textile designer, @arngedesign! 

Gus, here, is dressed for a tropical pool party, and ready to model these vibrant designs! Many thanks to the fabulous fashion doll enthusiast, @noodlemore, for requesting these trunks! I hope his little models have a ton of fun with them!

 

 

September Editorial

Lucian’s First Editorial

Gus’ cousin, Lucian, is full of excitement this morning, and has been sending him a bunch of enthusiastic and slightly incoherent messages! After a little patient prying, Gus learns that Lucian has been signed on to model alongside him in the upcoming issue of #dollslifemagazine! His cousin has never done an editorial shoot before, and doesn’t know whether to be nervous or thrilled! “Congrats man! You’re gonna be great!” Gus reassures him. “The Dollslife Magazine photo shoots are always a lot of fun!”

Here are Gus and Lucian, headed off to work, on the day of the Dollslife Magazine photo shoot. Their looks are inspired by the comfy, casual, model street-style at fashion weeks.

Getting ready for their editorial photo shoot, Gus is being a big help, making sure Lucian won’t have a shiny nose in any of his pictures! To see there photos, check out the September issue here.

The First Fall Color

The leaves around here are starting to get colorful!! Gus is going for a peaceful meander in his leather jacket, admiring the first hints of Fall. 

Overhauling a Bench

Gus’ cushioned bench is getting overhauled with a brand new scrapbook paper veneer. I think the original white paper covering was starting to look a little tired. I’m loving the new bleached barn wood look! 

Here is Gus, looking yacht-ready and preppy, with his refinished bench. I think a set of cozy Flannel cushions, for fall, would be a nice touch too.
