Gus at the Barn

Gus is at the barn, doing a little late morning pony polishing. It may be freezing cold, but Barry, the Hackney pony, is already starting to think about shedding.

Warm in Wintery White

Yesterday was dazzlingly bright and sunny, so today, Gus remembered to wear his shades. He didn’t check the weather, though, and now it looks like snow. 

Overalls Sewing Pattern

I just added a new pattern to the shop, designed by special request, but available to all! These rugged, roomy overalls are hand-sewing friendly, and can hold their own, against whatever wear and tear Gus, Sinatra, and Barry the pony, can throw at them. The pattern can be found here.

Gus and Sinatra are having a paw-sitively grrr-eat Palentine’s Day! I hope you all are having a lovely Valentine’s Day too!

Gus Suits up for the Ken Doll Photo Project

Here is my 2nd photo for the #adriandollslifekenchallenge, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Ken doll!! Ken was first introduced as the ideal boyfriend for Barbie. However, it takes a village to make a perfect boyfriend, and Gus, here, is ready to pitch in and give Ken an earful of advice, about what to wear on a romantic date with Barbie. As a model, Gus has had first hand experience with all sorts of outfits, and he’s got plenty to say, on the topic of style! The February #adriandollslifekenchallenge theme is “the perfect boyfriend.”

Adrian's Birthday Party!

Wishing a very Happy Birthday, and Instagram anniversary, to the amazing photographer, artist, journalist, friend, and all-around inspiration, @adrian.dollslife!!! Gus and Lucian are celebrating in Gus’ greenhouse with a pot of hot green tea. Lucian baked a double raspberry chocolate cake from a favorite family recipe, and Gus decorated it for the occasion, with fresh berries. They’ll be sure you get a generous piece.

I want to say a great big Thank you, @adrian.dollslife , for all the incredible work you do, each month, industriously gathering #dollstagram news, and giving a spotlight to so many fabulous creators in #dollslifemagazine! I think it brings so much joy to the whole doll community!! You are truly amazing!!! 

Polo and Rugby Shirt Pattern

I’m excited to announce that I just published the pattern for my polo and classic rugby shirt designs! Gus, here, is modeling the different shirt styles included in the pattern. It’s hand-sewing friendly, and can be found at the Tiny Apparel Pattern Shop! 

           

 

January Editorial

Gus and Lucian are hitting the slopes, in runway-inspired gear, for the January edition of #dollslifemagazine! Check out the whole awesome publication here! This month’s magazine has more great interviews, featuring talented miniature artists and photographers!!!

I got my inspiration for these looks, from the fall/winter 2020-21 collections of Dior, Iceberg, and Dsquared.

To make the Dior-inspired skis and snowboard, I used layered card stock, glue, acrylic paint, craft foam, and a touch of foil paper on the boot clamps.

An Aran Sock Sweater

Gus, here, is feeling cozy enough to take on the wildest nor’easter, in his new sweater! I’ve been wanting to make an Aran style fisherman’s sweater for a long time, and I finally found a perfect sock to use.

I had a small scrap left over from the sock that I used for Gus’s sweater, so, Sinatra got a tiny, beagle-sized Aran sweater of his own. Now Gus and his pup can match.

The Ken 60th Anniversary Project

Miniature instagramer, @adrian.dollslife, created a monthly photo challenge, celebrating Ken’s 60th anniversary. This is my first photo for the #adriandollslifekenchallenge! With it’s flowing script and jaunty tilt, the iconic Ken insignia is a lot like Ken himself; compact, dashing, versatile, and timeless! Here, Gus is putting on his Ken high-tops, featuring the elegant little signature on each ankle. The January theme is “Hi! My name is Ken.”

Snow Day

Gus is enjoying a hot cup of tea, and admiring the beautiful snow outside, from the comfort of his living room. It snowed all day yesterday and we are expecting more!

Bespoke Bogey Bags

I‘m so excited to have completed another big project: Three bespoke bags, fully lined, with brass hardware! The two on the left are @lanvinofficial inspired Bogey bags, and the one on the right is a @coach inspired Musette bag. These guys have been a long time in the making. Many thanks to @xenobia219 for requesting these fun designs!

Here’s another view of the three bespoke bags I’ve been working on, and the designer inspiration! Both the brown bags that I made have a blue and yellow plaid lining, and the black bag has a navy and white geometric print lining.  

Relaxing After the Holidays

After all the hustle and bustle of the Holidays, it’s nice to just sit back and relax. Today, Gus and Sinatra are twinning in warm, stripy flannel.
