Today, Gus pays homage to one of my favorite publicity shots of Deco-era silver screen icon, Tyrone Power. π Do you have a favorite Ty Power movie? Mine are “CafΓ© Metropole” (1937) and “Lloyd's of London” (1936). πΏππ₯ This picture was also inspired by the #monday4dolls theme: reflections.
Happy Saturday! Gus gets industrial in the scrapbook paper studio, modeling the flat cap, from the latest sewing pattern in the Tiny Apparel pattern shop, linked here. π§³⚙️
Happy Valentine’s Day! Need last minute flowers for a loved one, or yourself? Gus is at your service, ready to jog them over to their destination! ππ»♂️ππΊπΌπΈπΉ
Happy Birthday @adrian.dollslife! Congratulations on four awesome years, here on #dollstagram!!! π₯π To celebrate the theme: FUN, Gus and Lucian started the day off with a romp in the snow, and now they’re rolling bocce balls all over the house. ππΏπ π
Name
that show π: I will always be impressed with the impact that a certain
iconic tv series has had on the trajectory of modern menswear history.
Even if, like me, you never watched it through, you may have seen the
publicity stills, with their dark tweedy aesthetic, dominating style
blogs and Pinterest, through the 2010s. They have influenced everything
from wedding photography to some of this very season’s major fashion
editorials. Today, Gus and Lucian are putting their own spin on it.
Sewing patterns for the caps, and Gus’ coat and sweater (on the left), can be found in the Tiny Apparel Etsy Shop, linked here. ππ§΅πͺ‘
A
new sewing pattern is in the shop! π This one includes instructions
for making a classic flat cap, and a slouchy beret. Both designs are
beginner friendly, and created with hand sewing in mind. Swipe through,
to see Gus modeling them.
This week, Gus got a touch-up on the ol’ eye paint, and new glued on eyelashes. Time to pose for an updated profile picture! πΊπΈ
I make Gus’ lashes out of tiny snippets of black faux fur. They are definitely on the silver-screen leading-man side of things, but I’m partial to the interesting shadows they cast in pictures. π
We’ve got blizzards this week, and Gus’ cousin Lucian, is modeling a retro spin on slope style. ❄️
Gus is reading through the latest quarterly issue of #dollslifemagazine, on his laptop. You can read through a digital copy here. πππ
Today, Gus is posing with a beautiful bag of signature Sunflowerman Coffee by @haveanicedaycoffee! π A great big thank you to @sunflowerman, for this wonderful gift! It has a lovely, sweet, rich buttery aroma, and I know it’s going to taste amazing! The packaging is a work of art too, and can be opened up to reveal an even larger image. Scroll to see my 3D felt rendition of the little Sunflowerman dragon featured on the bag. π☕️π✨
It’s January, which means it’s time to pour through all those new fall/winter 23/24 menswear collections, and gather inspo! π Gus’ beret here will appear soon in an upcoming sewing pattern. His sweater was made from a sock with the Tiny Apparel bulky sweater pattern, and his flannel pants are from the Tiny Apparel slim-fit pants pattern. (Available at the link in my bio).π§΅πͺ‘
